As a regular Navy WWII veteran, at sea or overseas 39 months of a 45 month war; I earnestly feel that it would be appropiate that our NAFTS board would consider the support of the restoration of an original ATF, the ZUNI.
The officers and crews of the ATFs are the basis of our membership. To have an operating memorial would be a wonderful tribute to their service. The exposure, not only to us veterans and our families, but the public and younger generation that are in the Sea Cadets and the NROTC.
If the Board feels that we are unable to provide direct financial support, there are certainly other avenues we could take. Other than mere lip service at your meetings.
