USS Redwing ARS 4

This is a model of the Redwing before its conversion to an ARS.  Its the property of Robert Blackman.  The USS Redwing was sunk off North Africa on 29 June 1943 after hitting a mine with a loss of one life.  Bob, who on the helm at the time, says they were at General Quarters and the berthing compartment was empty and that saved many lives.
